Wenn ich ein Gefühl in einem Bild ausdrücken möchte, beginne ich mit zwei Farben den Hintergrund zu malen. Der Hintergrund gibt den Ton an.
Sobald mir während des Malens eine neue Farbe in den Sinn kommt, werde ich sie verwenden, aber es ist jedes Mal eine Mutprobe. Das erfordert besonders viel Courage, wenn die Farblandschaft, die aus den ersten Farben entstanden ist, im Gleichgewicht ist. Also übe ich mich in Vertrauen und füge die neue Farbe hinzu. Wenn die zusätzliche Farbe sehr kontrastierend zu den bereits verwendeten Farben ist, dann ist es wie ein Sprung vom 5-Meter-Brett ins Schwimmbecken.
Die nächste Mutprobe kommt dann, wenn der farbige Hintergrund fertig ist und ich plötzlich weiß, welche Motive noch dazu kommen sollen.

…hätte ich immer das Gefühl, dass ich meinem Innersten nicht vertraut habe.

Deshalb riskiere ich lieber das ganze Gemälde und übe mich in Vertrauen, als aus Angst vor einem Misserfolg nicht weiter zu malen.

Auch im Gefühl von Vertrauen passieren Fehler, also Dinge, die ich so für das Gemälde nicht beabsichtigt hatte. Aber ich nehme sie als Geschenk und Anregung. Es bedeutet lediglich, dass das Bild eine neue Wendung nehmen wird.

Für meine Bilder bin ich auf die Hilfe von allem, was ist, angewiesen. Manchmal schreibe ich das Mantra, das ich auf jedem Bild verwende, sogar schon auf die weiße Leinwand, um für ein gutes Ergebnis zu bitten. Und bevor ich anfange, bringe ich oft den örtlichen Energien bei mir Zuhause, dem Genius loci, eine typische Balinesische Opfergabe, genannt Canang, dar. Damit bete ich, dass ich nicht durch wenig hilfreiche Energien gestört werde. Mein Wunsch ist, ein Bild zu schaffen, das eine heilig/heilende Energie oder ermutigende Energie ausdrückt, die Menschen inspirieren kann.
